Portraits of “Prince Faggot” Cast
Prince Faggot is a stage play written by Jordan Tannahill and directed by Shayok Misha Chowdhury that reimagines the private life of a fictionalized British royal family through the perspective of a queer adolescent prince. The play explores themes of power, inheritance, surveillance, and sexuality within an institution built on tradition and public image.
The production centers on the tension between personal identity and public expectation, using the royal setting as a framework to examine queerness, family dynamics, and control. The play blends realism with moments of heightened theatricality, shifting between intimate domestic scenes and public spectacle.
I was commissioned to shoot portraits of the all-queer and trans cast of the play at member-only Chez Margaux. Two portraits featuring the leading trans women were published in Vogue in the article “The Women of ‘Prince Faggot’ Find Their Light.” My first US Vogue feature. Yay!
