Soul Summit 2022 Portraits on Film (P)

In honor of today’s annual Soul Summit festival in Fort Greene Park, here are a few throwback photos from last year’s event.

Photos are taken on medium format Mamiya RB67 with Kodak 200 and Fujicolor PRO 400H film stocks.

NOTES: These film series were developed at home. At some point, I had to start using a store instead of developing film in my bathtub because I messed up a few too many rolls. You can see an uneven development of film on Louie’s and Richard’s and his kids’ photos. Nubia’s negatives scanned in with a green tint over them, which also made her pink hair pop. I loved this edit done by my scanner and decided to keep the photos this way instead of color-correcting them.

This woman told me a compelling story that I forgot. I also lost her business card.
